Windows 10, Why Upgrade?
Windows 10 is due for release on 29th July, and you can get it for free! Reserve your personal free upgrade by clicking on the small Windows icon on the right end of your taskbar and follow the instructions – not to worry though, this doesn’t mean Windows 10 is downloaded on your device on 29th July, you can choose when you want it to be downloaded.
Windows 10 has listened to users and we see the return of the Start menu, a true welcome for some as the Start menu was missed when Windows 8 was launched. Back bigger and better, you can customise your Start menu; resize the actual menu and the tiles, pin and unpin tiles to the taskbar as you wish and change the colour scheme!
Those with a Windows phone may be familiar with Cortana, but for those who are not Cortana is your own personal assistant. There to help you, Cortana can provide reminders, answer your questions, send emails and access your documents for you. Get familiar with Cortana, because the more you use her the more personal and beneficial Cortana will be for you.
Another cool feature is the new web browser Microsoft Edge. Developed by Microsoft this was unveiled earlier this year and will launch alongside Windows 10 on 29th July. Like every other Windows application Edge is designed to give you a better experience with easy sharing, reading and researching, and you can even type notes directly onto a web page. But not to worry, Internet Explorer is still accessible if you need it.
Whichever device you’re on, Windows 10 displays your apps so they look great and easy to use in all modes. Also included in the Windows 10 download is some great apps, built in apps such as Maps, Music, Movies, Photos and Mail & Calendar come as standard so you don’t have to go searching for them. Making your life even easier!
