Previously Microsoft updated the OneDrive for Business web portal view to a new view with new features to make sharing files easier and quicker!
The new experience improves performance and has a new, cleaner look with a simpler navigation, making it easier to keep files organised and upload, edit and share.
You might also noticed there’s a new command bar across the top of the page that is contextually aware, meaning it will only show you commands applicable to what you have selected.
The new Details pane displays more information on your selected file or folder, making it easier for you to see who the file is shared with, recent activity and the size of the file or folder.
If you are not ready for the new experience you can always switch back to the classic experience. Users can themselves switch back to the existing classic experience with the link on the bottom left of the screen, alternatively your IT can switch off the default of the new experience, which can be done by following these steps below:
- Navigate to the SharePoint Admin Centre.
- Select Settings
- Navigate to the OneDrive for Business experience section and select classic experience.
However you have to remember this option will eventually cease and the new experience will be the only view option.
